Does Netlify have a hard spending cap?

Yes Per the docs as of Oct 14, 2026: On credit-based plans, Free has a hard limit; when credits run out, projects are paused. Paid plans can buy more credits / auto recharge.

How do I turn on a spending limit in Netlify?

1. Check you're on a credit-based plan (Free, Personal, Pro).
2. Leave auto recharge OFF if you want usage to stop when credits run out.
3. If you use Agent Runners, set an AI Credit Usage Limit.

What happens when the Netlify limit is hit?

Per the docs, when your credit balance is used up, all your web projects are paused until the next billing cycle (or more credits).

Gotchas

• If one project exceeds the limits, all projects on the account are paused.
