Does Render have a hard spending cap?
Partial Per the docs as of Oct 14, 2026: Render documents a monthly spend limit for build pipeline minutes only. We found no account-wide dollar cap in the pages fetched today.
How do I turn on a spending limit in Render?
- Workspace Settings > Build Pipeline > Set spend limit.
What happens when the Render limit is hit?
When the pipeline spend limit is reached, Render stops running pipeline tasks (including builds) for the rest of the month. Free web services are suspended if free instance hours run out.
Gotchas
- Pipeline limit does not cap instance, bandwidth or database charges.
- Free services exceeding bandwidth are billed if a payment method is on file.
